Minecraft “Spawn Point” – Do mobs spawn on Fence Gates?
In this series we examine conclusively which blocks mobs do or do not spawn on. Although the minecraft wiki can supply answers to many of the questions this series will ask there are two issues with this: 1. The wiki can be edited by anyone and filled with speculation, and; 2. Many people will refuse to believe certain facts on the wiki unless they are presented with hard proof (which can be difficult to come by). That’s where this series comes in – it provides irrefutable proof of what mobs can and can’t spawn on. @kelvin3711 should be interesting to test =)
@lucnoms ; )
@saxdude58 I am 99% sure that they wont spawn on open fence gates in mid air, otherwise we would have creepers falling from the sky =p
@socccerPlayerz Lily pads have been done =)
@M2ovies damned YouTube! *shakes fist*
@777static777 Thanks for the reply! I found out how you do it with some tutorials, thanks anyways. Also, I subbed
@mclover0220 hmm that might be interesting… I have MC edit and think I might be able to edit it in like that =p
Have you tried soul sand?
@LZmiljoona not yet
@777static777 thanks, I should have waited till the end of the video.
So my suggestion is SOUL SAND!
I would be really interested if that works, since they are one pixel less high (?) than normal blocks
“down under” isn’t that where you live? :b
@alabalacr2 certainly is. And therein lies the joke =p
The more important question is does open fence gates fool mobs like signs do
@BigOnCamp yeh, that’s a fair point.
I’ve watched about 5 of your videos, and they are all amazing; you execute the experiment perfectly and with perfect variables, and you run through it quickly and professionally. Good job.
now you said that when open it is like nothing is their. so are mobs just spawning cause it is dark or is it really because its a fence gate.
Could you try a Furnace with and without something smelting in it?
Glowstone and Jack-o-lanterns give light, so those should just go to the non-spawnable blocks
Dunno ’bout redstone and redstone torches how much they give out. So i would actually suggest redstone dust (Powered and unpowered) and redstone torches (If you can, do powered and unpowered
Maybe just fill the outer ring of each of your spawn pads with halfslabs so you can put redstone torches in all the other places and then turn them off.
Bedrock!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just done a test, Mobs do NOT spawn on open fence gates, they spawned in this video on the block below!
REDSTONE ON AND OFF!!
